All right, I'll concede that, since even if one's listening for them they're difficult to pick out.

I suppose I just forgot about the idea of being watched at all.

The Captain is capable of watching us anywhere except our cabins. It's worth remembering that--I was aware that he would be capable of seeing the conversation we were having. I didn't think of the passengers, beside that.

Several minutes pass.

I hope he was occupied with something else.

He usually isn't interested in things like this. That's why he doesn't watch the cabins, he might see something he's disinterested in.

Knowing that the Captain does not watch us sleep is only mildly reassuring.

It's other activities he's trying to avoid.

I know. I was trying to be charitable.

How best to change the subject...

Sundries gave me a weapon. I'm not sure what to do with it.

What sort of weapon?

[decrypter]

It's a gun. I recognize it, because it belongs to someone I used to know. No idea why it showed up here, though.

I have ideas on how to help you practice with it. Aim toward drones making sounds.

I might need a different weapon if I'm to actually practice. They only gave me six cartridges in total.

I know they cause small explosions. She used them to great effect.

I'll see if any of Jinx's guns are still around. That or I know Peter Smith has a pistol.

Something a little smaller would be preferred. I'll show you the one that was sent, so you understand the size.
